Aggregate, base materials, sand, gravel, and construction material delivery and removal
SoCal Dirt Broker delivers the full range of construction aggregates and materials that Southern California projects demand. From Class II base for road construction to rip rap for erosion control, decomposed granite for landscaping to sand for utility bedding, we source, transport, and deliver the materials your project needs.
Material selection and sourcing directly impacts project quality and budget. Using the wrong aggregate specification, ordering from a distant quarry when a closer source exists, or underestimating volume needs can all drive up costs and cause delays. Our team matches materials to specifications, optimizes sourcing, and coordinates delivery logistics across all four counties.
With relationships at quarries and batch plants throughout Los Angeles, Orange County, San Bernardino, and Riverside counties, we leverage volume purchasing and backhaul opportunities to deliver competitive pricing without compromising material quality.
Material Types
We supply Class II base, crushed miscellaneous base (CMB), 3/4" aggregate, 1-1/2" aggregate, pea gravel, rip rap (various sizes), decomposed granite (natural and stabilized), washed sand, plaster sand, mason sand, topsoil, mulch, and boulders. Each material meets or exceeds Caltrans and county specifications.
Specialty materials — colored DG, recycled aggregate base, permeable paving aggregates, and engineered soil blends — are available through our network of suppliers. We source exactly what your project specifications call for.
Sourcing & Supply Chain
Our supply chain spans dozens of quarries, aggregate yards, and recycling facilities across Southern California. We monitor availability, pricing, and lead times to ensure your materials arrive when needed. When supply shortages affect one source, we activate alternatives quickly.
For large-volume projects, we negotiate directly with quarry production schedules to secure allocation and favorable pricing. Long-term contracts and repeat business give our clients priority access during high-demand periods.
Delivery Logistics
Materials are delivered by end dump, belly dump, flatbed, or transfer truck depending on the material type and site conditions. We assess your staging area, access roads, and unloading requirements before the first delivery to ensure smooth operations.
Urban sites with limited space, hillside projects with challenging access, and rural sites with unpaved roads all require different approaches. Our drivers are experienced with every site condition Southern California presents.
Specifications & Testing
Every jurisdiction in Southern California has material specifications for different applications. Road base sieve analysis, R-value requirements, compaction specs, and agency-approved material lists vary by county and even by city. We ensure materials meet the specifications your project requires.
QC testing coordination — including sieve analysis, proctor testing, and R-value testing — is part of our service. We work with testing labs to verify material compliance before and during placement.
Application Matching
Choosing the right material for each application saves money and prevents rework. Road base for street construction, structural fill for building pads, DG for landscaping, rip rap for erosion control, sand for utility bedding — each application has specific requirements that we help you navigate.
We often suggest cost-effective alternatives that meet spec. Recycled aggregate base can replace virgin material for many applications at lower cost. Locally available decomposed granite may substitute for imported specialty soils. Our recommendations are based on what works, not what costs more.
Cost Optimization
Material costs depend on source distance, volume, market conditions, and logistics. We optimize costs through strategic sourcing from the nearest qualified supplier, volume pricing, timing purchases with quarry production, and coordinating backhaul opportunities.
Waste reduction also matters. Accurate volume estimation prevents over-ordering, and salvaging reusable materials from demolition reduces your total material spend. We help you minimize waste while meeting project specifications.
Removal & Recycling
Removing old materials from job sites — broken concrete, asphalt millings, demolished masonry, and contaminated fill — requires proper handling and disposal. We coordinate removal with recycling facilities that process concrete and asphalt into reusable aggregate, diverting waste from landfills.
Recycled materials often have a second life on other projects. Crushed concrete becomes aggregate base, asphalt millings serve as temporary road surfaces, and clean demolition fill can be used for non-structural applications. We connect surplus materials with projects that need them.
